Axé Capoeira Fight Team

Axé Capoeira Fight Team is devoted to representing capoeira as an effective martial art. Our fight representatives participate in many different martial art events promoting, debating, and fighting in order to prove to the world that capoeira is a legitimate martial art that can be used as self defense. Axé Capoeira is currently one of the leaders of representing capoeira in the ring or cage as a legitimate martial art.

F.A.Q's:

Are there women in your BJJ classes?

- Yes! Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is great excercise, but also very effective self-defense that can save your life! Although the majority of our BJJ students are males, there are always other women in class. The atmosphere is very respectful and empowering for everyone.

I have never done martial arts, can I still participate?
- Yes. No experience is necessary and you do not need to be in a certain shape to take part in our classes. There are new beginners joining everyday and many ask themselves the same question: "Why didn't I join this earlier?!". If you have never done any form of exercise or have health concerns, we highly recommend to consult your physician prior to taking part in any physicall activity.

What should I wear?

- For Capoeira, wear comfortable and breathable pants (no shorts or jeans please) and t-shirt / top. For Muay Thai, BJJ and dance, any type of comfortable shorts or pants and a regular t-shirt is perfect.

Do I need a partner?
- No. Although a partner is not necessary, we hightly recommend having a friend join with you as this has been proven to help keep both of you motivated and focused on achieving your goal (fitness and/or skill level).
